Once upon a time, in the grand city of Rome, lived a boy named Pancras. He was just like you – curious, bold, and full of life. But there was something extraordinary about Pancras. At just 14, he carried the strength of spirit and the wisdom of ages.
Pancras came from a far-off land called Phrygia and was taken to Rome by his uncle. Life wasn't easy, especially after his uncle passed away, leaving Pancras all by himself in this bustling city. Yet, Pancras remained steadfast, his heart filled with a powerful new belief - Christianity, which his uncle had introduced to him.
One day, Emperor Diocletian heard about this remarkable young boy. Impressed by his character, the Emperor offered to adopt Pancras, but on one condition – he must give up his Christian faith. Pancras found himself facing a huge decision, one that could change his life forever.
Most of us, especially at 14, would be terrified. But not Pancras. With a heart full of courage and an unwavering faith, he stood before the Emperor and said, 'No.' He chose to stay true to his beliefs, even if it meant risking his life. And for this, he was sentenced to a fate no one his age should ever face - he was to be beheaded.
Even in the face of such harsh punishment, Pancras didn't falter. He stayed strong, holding on to his faith until the very end. This brave boy became a symbol of courage, resilience, and unwavering faith. His spirit is remembered and honored even today, inspiring people around the world.
Pancras showed us that no matter how young we are, we can make a difference. We can stand up for what we believe in. And most importantly, that being true to ourselves and our values is the most significant stand we can ever take. That's why we often see Pancras holding a book inscribed with, "VENITE AD ME ET DABO VOBIS OMNIA BONA" – "Come to me, and I shall give you all good things." This is a promise that when we stay true to our values, all good things will come our way.
Pancras' tale isn't just a story from a history book. It's a reminder for all of us that no matter who we are or how old we are, we can stand strong, stay true to our beliefs, and make a difference. It's a call to be a #BetterKid, just like Pancras, full of self-discipline, self-reliance, honesty, respect, responsibility, nationalism, and spirituality.
And remember, just like Pancras, when you stay true to yourself and your values, you too can bring about 'Omnia Bona - All Good Things'!
